E-Rate can only be used for eligible services at eligible locations.
Respondents are asked to provide two differing types of service: 1) Carrier Ethernet service to connect schools, libraries, and other entities to each other and to one or more Networkmaine Points of Presence, and 2) Dark Fiber service to connect schools, libraries, and other entities to a Networkmaine Point of Presence.
For lit fiber, the minimum bandwidth proposed for any individual school or library should be 1 Gbps. For sites with greater than 1 Gbps requested, the handoff will be 10 Gbps Ethernet.
For dark fiber, the minimum capacity is 1 strand and the maximum capacity is 2 strands.
Respondents should propose costs for circuits on a monthly basis inclusive of all associated state, federal, and/or Respondent imposed taxes surcharges, and fees. Respondents should show separately any applicable one-time non-recurring charges. Respondents must only include costs to Networkmaine. Any incremental costs associated with excess fiber such as additional installation or labor costs may not be included in bid responses.
