What the agency is buying

The North River WRRF was originally constructed in 1986, was constructed above the Hudson River with a majority of the structure supported by steel caissons driven into the river soil. Numerous structural elements within the North River WRRF have shown signs of aging and significant degradation. The facility requires repair and upgrades to improve its compliance with DEPs standard operating procedures and to continue to provide reliable wastewater treatment operations in accordance with wastewater treatment regulations. Contract NR-107 will implement structural improvements to the North River WRRF. Contract NR-107 comprises four main project elements: steel caisson protection, sludge barge loading dock fender replacement, underdeck repair and improvements, and ice breaker reconstruction.
